Bony Bird's Nest

Hubby has been on a royal tear trimming trees around here. We do have a lot of foliage - something in the neighborhood of 50 palm trees plus bushes - lots of yard work. We have quite a few of these Mediterranean Palms that grow like weeds and get really thick with offshoots. You can let them go, but they look much nicer if you keep them trimmed.

This one has been making the dogs crazy. They keep pushing in through the bottom branches and crashing around in there barking and carrying on. There are definitely birds in this tree. Here 's Louie with his face in between the branches ...

Here you can see Louie on the left and Miles' rear end on the right through the branches.
I'm amazed that they're not afraid of these trees or get hurt running around in them because the branches have teeth ...
So Hubby trimmed this tree Sunday - here it's halfway done ...
And here is the final result ...
When he was still trimming, he called me out to look at something he found in the branches - a bird's nest ...
Do you see that ivory colored thing in the nest? Yes, it's one of the little rawhide chew bones that we give our dogs ...
The birds probably got tired of being harassed by Louie and Miles and thought, "Hey, you little bastards dogs, get outta here or we're stealing your chew bone!"
